Saqtiel Orozco-Pedroza, from Corona, CA, has been passionately playing the flute for 13 years, with the past 8 years dedicated to private study. He earned his bachelor's degree in Flute Music Performance from California State University of Long Beach, where he studied under esteemed instructors Cindy Broz, Dr. John Barcellona, and Darin Thaves.
Saqtiel brings a wealth of orchestral experience, having played for three years in the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra and four years in the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music Wind Symphony. His exceptional talent has been recognized through various competitions: he secured third place in the San Diego Flute Guild Piccolo Competition in 2018, second place in the Lake Elsinore Rotary Competition in 2019, and first place in the San Diego Flute Guild Orchestral Excerpt Competition in 2020. Beyond competitions, Saqtiel has collaborated on new music compositions and participated in numerous recitals.
Saqtiel has also had the privilege of participating in masterclasses with renowned flutists such as Adriana Ferreira, Andrea Fisher, Brook Ferguson, Carol Wincenc, Heather Clarke, Ian Clarke, Jennifer Grim, Julien Beaudiment, Marina Piccinini, Peter Verhoyen, Rena Urso, Robert Dick, Roazalia Szabo, Sandy Kipp Iles, Snjezana Pavicevic, Steve Kujala, and Vanessa Fourla. These experiences have profoundly shaped his artistic journey, contributing to his growth as a versatile and expressive musician.
